The pool is the service's full stock of addresses — 100,000+ IPv4 across 20 countries — and every package is a slice of it, assembled at the moment of payment. That size isn't a vanity number; it's your headroom. List refreshes draw fresh addresses from distant ranges instead of handing you the neighbors of yesterday's IPs, country mixes are built from the same stock in one order, and when a project outgrows 500 addresses, you scale to 5,000 in the same Dashboard instead of migrating your software to another provider.
Why the pool is IPv4-only is a deliberate choice. IPv4 ran out years ago — the address itself now carries acquisition cost — which is why IPv6 addresses sell for fractions of a cent. The discount is real, and so is the reason for it: roughly half the web still doesn't answer over IPv6, and because the protocol is allocated in enormous blocks, platforms readily flag whole ranges at once. Cheap IPv4 proxies get their price from package volume instead — the per-IP rate falls as the order grows, and every address stays universally reachable.

Recycled — like every IPv4 address sold anywhere, and it's worth understanding why. The free supply ran out at IANA in 2011 and at RIPE, the European registry, in 2019; every address on the market has previously belonged to a hosting company, an ISP, or someone else's project. When a seller advertises "virgin" IPs, they mean something narrower — "not used in our service before" or "no visible history on major platforms" — and the definition changes from seller to seller. The practical questions to ask are concrete ones: how long has the range been in the pool, and does it have history against your kind of target? If an address turns out burned for your specific use case, that's what list refreshes are for.
Because the honest metric is cost per successful request, and a proxy that can't reach your target scores zero successes at any price. Roughly half the web still has no IPv6 support — if the site, its CDN, or any hop in between is IPv4-only, the connection simply never happens. The trust math is worse than the reachability math: IPv6 is allocated to providers in enormous blocks, platforms know one customer can cycle through thousands of addresses from a single allocation, and they flag whole ranges accordingly. We don't sell IPv6 at all for exactly these reasons — the low sticker price buys addresses that underperform on both reach and reputation.
Yes, simultaneously — protocols are served on separate ports of the same address, so IPv4 SOCKS5 proxies and HTTP proxies aren't different purchases here. Point your scraper at the SOCKS5 port and a browser extension at the HTTP port of the same IP, and both work at once; the only shared budget is your plan's concurrent connection limit. Port numbers for each protocol and authentication mode are listed in the Dashboard.
On the software side, and it's simpler than it sounds. The minimum is round-robin: requests walk the list in a circle. The working level is separate buckets of addresses per target domain, plus dropping IPs by response time. Off-the-shelf options: 3proxy as a local balancer, ProxyBroker, or Scrapy's built-in rotation middleware. One rule matters more than the tooling: with datacenter addresses, rotate on events — a ban, a CAPTCHA — not on a timer. Scheduled rotation makes sense when addresses are dynamic anyway; applied to a static list, it just burns through your pool faster. If you'd rather not run any of this yourself, rotating proxies do the switching server-side.
