How to set a proxy in Socinator
Socinator automates dozens of social media accounts from one machine — which is exactly why every account needs its own proxy: to the platform, each profile should look like a separate user with a separate IP. The setup has two parts, both done in the app's interface: add your proxies to the Proxy Manager, then assign one to each account. No code involved — this guide walks through both steps plus verification.
Before you start: proxy details and ports
You'll need your proxy IP address and port. Both are listed in your Dashboard — open your active subscription to see the full connection details. The port depends on how you want to authenticate:
| Authentication | HTTP port | SOCKS5 port | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Username / password credentials from your Dashboard |
8080 |
1080 |
The usual choice — Socinator has username and password fields built in |
| IP whitelisting no login required |
8085 |
1085 |
Machines with a static IP — leave the username and password fields empty |
With IP whitelisting, you first add your machine's IP address to the whitelist in the Dashboard — after that the proxy accepts connections from it with no credentials.
Step 1. Add proxies to the Proxy Manager
Open Socinator and go to the Proxy Manager (it lives on the dashboard, in the settings section). Click Add Proxy and fill in the fields in the pop-up window:
1. Group and Name — free-form labels; grouping proxies by platform or campaign pays off once you're past a dozen accounts.
2. IP address and Port — from your Dashboard, for example 123.45.67.89 and 8080.
3. Username and Password — your proxy credentials; leave both empty if you're on the whitelist ports.
4. Click Save.
Adding a whole package one by one isn't realistic, and Socinator can import a list instead. Export your proxies from the Dashboard to a file — the field order and delimiter are configurable at export, so you can produce exactly the line format the import dialog expects, one proxy per line:
Step 2. Verify the proxies
In the Proxy Manager list, tick the checkboxes next to the new proxies and click Verify Selected. Socinator tests each one and updates the Status column — every proxy should come back as working before you attach accounts to it. If a proxy fails here, it's almost always the port/authentication mismatch covered in the last section.
Step 3. Assign a proxy to each account
Open the account manager, add or edit an account, and in its settings pick the proxy it should use — the account's sessions, logins, and all automated activity will go through that IP from then on.
The rule that keeps accounts alive: one account — one dedicated IP, permanently. Social platforms cross-check the IP history of every profile, so accounts shouldn't share proxies or hop between them. That's the use case our dedicated proxies are built for — each IP is reserved exclusively for you, starting from a single proxy. Which proxy type fits which kind of account work, with pricing and specs, is broken down on the proxies for Socinator page.
If something doesn't work
The most common causes: a proxy stuck on a failed status after Verify Selected usually means the port doesn't match the authentication method (see the table) — credentials with port 8085 or an empty login with port 8080 both fail; on the whitelist ports, check that the machine's IP is actually whitelisted in the Dashboard; and if the proxy verifies fine but the account login fails, the platform may be asking for a security check — log into the account manually through Socinator's browser once and confirm it. If none of these is it, message us in live chat right on this page — we'll help you get connected.
