A firewall is responsible for filtering packets of traffic. For example, it blocks access to the Internet for certain applications. There are many more options for using a proxy. But if you install special software, it can also be used for such purposes.

To see your proxy server and port, you'll need to check the settings of the application or software you're using that requires a proxy server. The steps to find the proxy server and port will vary depending on the application or software. Here are some general steps for common applications:

For Web Browsers:

1. Open your web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
2. Click on the menu button (usually three horizontal lines or three dots) and select "Settings" or "Options."
3. Look for a section related to "Network settings," "Proxy settings," or "Connections."
4. Find the proxy server address and port in the settings.

For Windows:

1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
2. Type "inetcpl" and press Enter to open the Internet Properties window.
3. Go to the "Connections" tab, and click on "LAN settings."
4. In the LAN settings, check the box next to "Use a proxy server for your LAN" if you have a proxy server configured. The proxy server address and port will be displayed.

For macOS:

1. Click the Apple menu and select "System Preferences."
2. Click "Network."
3. Select the network connection you want to check the proxy settings for (e.g., Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
4. Click the "Advanced" button.
5. Go to the "Proxies" tab.
6. Check the box next to "Use a proxy server" if you have a proxy server configured. The proxy server address and port will be displayed.

For Linux:

1. Open the Terminal.
2. Enter the following command to edit the network configuration file: sudo nano /etc/environment
3. Find the line that starts with "http_proxy" and check the value to find the proxy server address and port (e.g., "http_proxy=http://proxyserver:port").

Using a proxy server to change your IP address allows you to access websites or services that may be restricted based on your current IP. To use a proxy server to change your IP address, follow these steps:

1. Find a reliable proxy server: Look for a reputable proxy server list or website that provides proxy servers. Be cautious when choosing a proxy server, as some may be unreliable, slow, or pose security risks.

2. Choose a proxy server: Select a proxy server from the list that meets your needs in terms of location, speed, and reliability.

3. Configure your browser or software: Open your web browser or software and navigate to the proxy settings. Configure the settings to use the proxy server you've chosen. For web browsers, this is usually found in the settings or preferences menu.

4. Test the connection: Visit a website that displays your IP address or use an IP checker tool to ensure that the proxy server is working correctly and has successfully changed your IP address.

5. Use the proxy server: With the proxy server configured, you can now use the internet with the new IP address provided by the proxy server. Keep in mind that using proxies can slow down your internet connection, so be patient when browsing or accessing content.

It means a proxy server for devices that connect to the router via WiFi. It is also a remote server to let traffic through. For example, a user sends a request to Netflix from his smartphone through a proxy that is hosted in the UK. Netflix servers will "recognize" such a user as being from the UK (regardless of his actual location).

This depends directly on how the proxy server works. Some of them do not require any authorization at all, others require username and password for access, and others require you to view ads and so on. Which option will be used depends directly on the service that provides access to the proxy server.
