The easiest option is to use ready-made online proxy checkers. For example, Hidemy.name, which shows the type of protocol used. Or you can simply run Speedtest - this will show you the bandwidth and response speed (ping).

A proxy address, also known as a proxy URL or proxy server address, is the address used to connect to a proxy server. It typically consists of the following components:

Protocol: The protocol used to connect to the proxy server, such as HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS.

Username and password (optional): Authentication credentials for accessing the proxy server, if required.

Proxy server IP address or hostname: The IP address or hostname of the proxy server.

Port number: The port number on which the proxy server is listening for connections.

Here, and represent the proxy server's authentication credentials, is the proxy server's IP address or hostname, and is the proxy server's port number.

To connect 1C to a proxy server you need to perform the following actions:

Open the 1C program. Go to the "Reports" section. Under the item "1C Reporting" select the category "Regulated reports". Go to the "Settings" section. Click "Other exchange settings". Select "Proxy server settings". Enter your proxy server information. Confirm and save your settings.

Most often it is used to substitute your real IP address. An example of when this is needed: watching shows on Netflix that are only available to US users. A proxy can be used to make a user logging in from anywhere in the world will be identified by the IP address as a US user. Another option is to test your site through a local web server. A proxy in this case is used to intercept all the traffic in order to analyze it further for errors and failures.

Go to the settings (the icon in the form of three dots) and open the section "Settings". In the tab at the very bottom, click on "Advanced settings". Click on "Open proxy settings for computer" and in the window that appears, click on "Network settings". Find the line "Automatic detection of parameters", uncheck it, and then, in the section "Proxy", activate the option "Use a proxy server". Enter the proxy host and port in the appropriate fields, and then click "Apply".
