Not all routers support proxies, this nuance should be clarified with the manufacturer. But many of the routers from Asus, TP-Link, Xiaomi work well with this type of connection. All this is configured through the web interface. By the way, for some routers, custom Padavan firmware is also available. To connect to the Internet through a proxy server, you need to configure your device to use the proxy server for your network connections. Here's how to do it for different operating systems:
For Windows:

3. Click on the "Connections" tab.

6. Click "OK" and close the Internet Properties window.
For macOS:
1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click on "Network".
3. Select the network connection you are using (e.g., Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
4. Click on the "Proxy" tab.
5. Select "Web Proxy (HTTP)" from the "Proxy Settings" dropdown menu.
6. Enter the proxy server address and port number provided by your network administrator or proxy service.
7. Click "OK" and close the Network preferences.
VPN allows you to hide your real IP address, as well as further encrypt your traffic. VPN is also actively used for address spoofing. For example, the user is in the Russian Federation, but by connecting through a VPN server, the site "thinks" that the user is from the United States.

If the problem persists, open the "Advanced" tab in the "Browser Properties" window and check the box next to "Delete personal settings", click "Reset" and restart your computer.
