Go to "Control Panel" and in "Small icons" mode, find the item "Browser properties", aka "Internet Options". In the "Connection" tab, click on "Network Settings", and then leave the item "Automatic detection of parameters" enabled in the window that opens, and disable everything else.

This example simply fetches the HTML content of the Bing search results page for a given query. Keep in mind that web scraping is a delicate task, and the structure of the HTML might change, leading to your scraper breaking.

It depends on the purpose for which you plan to work with proxies at all. Personally, one is enough for myself. But if you plan to do massive parsing, it may not be enough to have 100 pieces.

There are 2 ways to do this. The first is to manually change the settings in /etc/environment, but you will definitely need root access to do that. You can also use the Network Manager utility (compatible with all common DEs). You just have to make sure beforehand that the driver for the network adapter to work properly is installed on the system.
