Select the "Proxy" tab in the "Network" window, then click on Win+C and find the "Settings" item. In the window that opens, stop at "Change computer settings" and go to "Network". Select the "Proxy" line here and disable the proxy functionality.
Proxy service settings refer to the configuration and settings related to the use of a proxy server. A proxy server is an intermediary server that sits between a client and a destination server, acting as an intermediary to request and deliver content on behalf of the client. The main purpose of a proxy server is to improve performance, enhance security, or bypass restrictions on accessing certain content.
Proxy service settings include the following components:
1. Proxy server address: The IP address or domain name of the proxy server that the client will use to route requests and receive responses.
2. Proxy server port: The port number on which the proxy server is listening for incoming connections.
3. Protocol: The communication protocol used by the proxy server, such as HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS.
4. Authentication: The credentials required to access the proxy server, including username and password, if the proxy server requires authentication.
5. Connection timeout: The maximum amount of time, in seconds, that the client will wait for a response from the proxy server before timing out and attempting to reconnect.
6. Socks version: The version of the SOCKS protocol used by the proxy server, such as SOCKS4 or SOCKS5.
7. Proxy type: The type of proxy server, such as HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS, that the client will use to route requests and receive responses.
8. Bypass list: A list of domains or IP addresses that the client will bypass the proxy server for, allowing direct access to those resources.
9. Connection encryption: The method used to encrypt the data transmitted between the client and the proxy server, such as SSL or TLS.
10. User-agent: The user-agent string that the client will use to identify itself to the proxy server and destination server.
To configure a Socks5 proxy for Chrome in Selenium using Python, you can use the --proxy-server command-line option with the Socks5 proxy address. Here's an example using the webdriver.Chrome class in Python:
from selenium import webdriver
from selenium.webdriver.chrome.service import Service as ChromeService
# Socks5 proxy configuration
socks5_proxy = "socks5://127.0.0.1:1080" # Replace with your actual Socks5 proxy address
# Configure Chrome options with proxy settings
chrome_options = webdriver.ChromeOptions()
chrome_options.add_argument(f'--proxy-server={socks5_proxy}')
# Create a Chrome WebDriver instance with the configured options
chrome_service = ChromeService(executable_path="path/to/chromedriver") # Replace with the actual path
driver = webdriver.Chrome(service=chrome_service, options=chrome_options)
# Example: Navigate to a website using the configured proxy
driver.get("https://www.example.com")
# Perform other actions with the WebDriver as needed
# Close the browser window
driver.quit()
- Replace "socks5://127.0.0.1:1080" with the actual Socks5 proxy address you want to use.
- Download the ChromeDriver executable from the official ChromeDriver download page and provide the path to the executable in the executable_path parameter of ChromeService.
- Update the driver.get() method to navigate to the website you want.
Make sure to have the selenium library installed (pip install selenium) and ensure that the ChromeDriver version is compatible with the Chrome browser installed on your system.
Open the torrent and through the "Menu" enter the subsection "Connection". Under "Proxy" choose a proxy type (Socks5 is best). In the box "Proxy" put IP address of your proxy, and in the "Port" box, respectively, the port of your proxy. If you are going to use proxy authentication, you will have to give your name and password in the corresponding fields. Click "Apply".
Open "Options" and then, under "Network", click on "Network Proxy". Now enter in the appropriate fields the IP address of the proxy and its port, based on the type of your proxy: HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS. In case you suddenly need authorization, enter the authorization data in the appropriate field of the IP address.
