The main scenarios for using a proxy server: bypassing blocking, hiding the real IP, protection of confidential data when connecting to public WiFi access points, interaction with blocked applications, connection to closed portals, forums (which operate only in one country, region).

A proxy server spoofs the IP address, port, and hardware information. It can also act as a secure gateway for data transmission in an already encrypted form (for example, this is how a proxy with the SOCKS5 protocol works).

Selenium is a popular web testing framework used for automating web browsers. SRWare Iron is a web browser based on the Chromium project, which is also used by Google Chrome. Since SRWare Iron is based on Chromium, you can use Selenium to automate testing on SRWare Iron using the ChromeDriver. Here's how you can do it:

1. Install SRWare Iron: Download and install SRWare Iron from the official website (https://www.srware.net/en/Iron).

2. Download ChromeDriver: Download the latest version of ChromeDriver from the official website (https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/chromedriver/downloads). Make sure to download the version that matches your SRWare Iron version.

3. Set up Selenium: Install Selenium for your preferred programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, etc.) using the appropriate package manager (e.g., pip, Maven, NuGet, etc.).

4. Write a test script: Write a test script using Selenium to automate your desired actions on SRWare Iron. Here's an example using Python:

If your proxy gives you a 504 error, it means the server failed to complete the request within the time period you specified. Refreshing the page may help. Another option is to switch to another browser. You can also use the incognito mode, pre-clearing the browser cache. Pay attention to plug-ins that can also cause this error.

In the settings bar (home screen), select "Network Settings" and then click on Ethernet. Here you should select the "Advanced Settings" option, which contains the "Proxy Server Settings" item. To further configure the proxy, select "Configure Manually", type in the proxy hostname and specify the port. Do not forget to list the domains that the proxy server should not use. You should leave this field empty if it does not exist. If the configuration process is successful, you will see the "Settings saved" notification.
