Open the control panel of your computer, find and select the item "Network connection", and then click "Show network connections", "Local network connections" and "Properties". If there is a tick next to "Obtain an IP address automatically", then no dedicated proxy has been used. If you see numbers there, it will be your address.

There are two options: setting up through the software of the TV itself. To do this, you will need to install a third-party application to redirect traffic. The second option is to organize a connection through a proxy on the router, through which the TV gets access to the Internet. Naturally, both of these options are relevant for modern TVs with Smart TV support.

In Telegram on PC, proxies can be set up through the application settings. You need to open the "Advanced settings" item, then - select "Connection type". By default, the Windows system proxy is used, but you can specify it manually or disable it altogether.

To check if the proxy server is working, follow these steps:

1. Open your web browser or software that uses the proxy server.

2. Visit a website that displays your public IP address, such as whatismyip.com.

3. Before making any changes to your browser or software settings, take note of your current IP address.

4. Configure your browser or software to use the proxy server you've chosen. If you're unsure how to do this, refer to the instructions provided in the previous answer.

5. Refresh the page with the IP address displayer (e.g., whatismyip.com).

6. Compare the new IP address displayed on the page to the one you noted earlier. If the IP address has changed, the proxy server is working correctly.

Alternatively, you can use a proxy checker tool or website that tests your proxy server's connection and anonymity. Keep in mind that some proxy servers may not work with certain websites or services, so you may need to try different proxies to find one that works for your specific needs.

And it depends on what purpose the proxy is used for. But you should definitely give preference to paid proxies. They are more reliable, always available, and with that comes a guarantee of privacy. Unfortunately, personal data is often stolen from free proxies.
