To configure a proxy on your MikroTik router, you need the Winbox software. The following steps must be done in the application: Open the "IP"-"WebProxy" sections. Check the box next to "Enabled". Enter the parameters of the proxy-server.

After that you have to specify the data of the proxy in the browser to be used. As an example, let's take Google Chrome. What you need to do:

Open the browser.
Click on the icon "?" in the upper right corner.
Go to "Settings".
Select the "Advanced" option.
Click the "System" tab.
Click on "Open proxy settings for your computer".
Click on "Network settings".
Activate the "Use proxy server" option.
In the tab that opens, specify the IP address of the proxy server. You should enter it in the field of the protocol to which the proxy server belongs.
Click the "OK" button to save your settings.

To check a proxy for blacklisting, it is necessary to use special tools developed for this purpose. Many proxy-checkers provide free online IP-address verification and provide detailed information related to the proxy servers security. To get it, just enter the IP address of the proxy and click on the "Verify" button.

If you are parsing a site using JSoup in a Java application and you want to introduce a delay between requests to avoid being blocked or rate-limited by the website, you can use Thread.sleep to pause the execution for a specified duration. Here's a basic example

First, make sure you have the JSoup library included in your project. If you're using Maven, you can add the following dependency to your pom.xml:

1. Jsoup.connect(url).get() is used to make an HTTP request and retrieve the HTML document from the specified URL.
2. Thread.sleep(delayMillis) introduces a delay of 2 seconds between requests. You can adjust the value of delayMillis based on your needs.

First you should check if its characteristics are correct. Some proxy servers are just IP address and port number, others use so called "connection script". You need to double-check that the data was entered correctly.

If your proxy gives you a 504 error, it means the server failed to complete the request within the time period you specified. Refreshing the page may help. Another option is to switch to another browser. You can also use the incognito mode, pre-clearing the browser cache. Pay attention to plug-ins that can also cause this error.
