Open "Options" and then, under "Network", click on "Network Proxy". Now enter in the appropriate fields the IP address of the proxy and its port, based on the type of your proxy: HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS. Not all routers support proxies, this nuance should be clarified with the manufacturer. But many of the routers from Asus, TP-Link, Xiaomi work well with this type of connection. All this is configured through the web interface. By the way, for some routers, custom Padavan firmware is also available. The proxy works best there, especially in the presence of the OpenVPN plugin.

To change the proxy server on your computer, follow these steps based on your operating system:

Windows:

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click on "Internet Options."
3. Go to the "Connections" tab and click "LAN settings."
4. Check the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" option.
5. Enter the new proxy server address, port, and authentication details if required.
6. Click "OK" to save the changes and close all open windows.

macOS:

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click on "Network."
3. Select your active network connection (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
4. Click the "Advanced" button.
5. Go to the "Proxies" tab.
6. Select the appropriate proxy setting (HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS) from the dropdown menu.
7. Enter the new proxy server address, port, and authentication details if required.
8. Click "OK" and then "Apply" to save the changes.

A proxy server acts as an intermediary between the client and the requested Internet resource. It is assigned the role of a kind of gateway or filter, which is responsible for submitting a request, receiving the required information and providing it to the user. The proxy server, if necessary, can make changes in incoming and outgoing data, the nature of which will depend on the type of proxy and its settings.

To enable proxies in your MacBook, you need to go to "System Preferences" (from the "Apple" menu), then open "Network", then - specify the type of connection you are using. Then select "Advanced Settings" (can be named as "Advanced"), then click on "Proxy". And then - either set the parameters manually, or specify a configuration file.
