Why run Discord bots through dedicated IPs?

Because Discord enforces one of its limits per IP address, and the documentation says so outright: any address that produces more than 10,000 invalid requests — 401s, 403s, 429s — within 10 minutes gets temporarily banned from the entire API by Cloudflare. On your own server that’s a bug you can fix. On shared hosting it’s a lottery: bot developers on shared platforms and serverless environments have spent years hitting Cloudflare error 1015 through no fault of their own, because some stranger’s crashed bot poured errors from the same egress address until Discord shut the door on everyone behind it. Discord’s own suggestion for that situation is a dedicated static egress IP — which is, word for word, the product on this page.

Isolation pays off in the calmer scenarios too. Route each production bot through its own address and an incident stays contained: one integration’s retry storm can’t take down the webhook pipeline of everything else you run, and when Discord does throttle something, the response headers tell you exactly which bot earned it — no forensic guesswork across a shared connection. Will this unblock Discord at school?

No — not on a school-managed device, and we’d rather lose the sale than pretend otherwise. When an administrator locks network settings by policy, the proxy fields you’d need to change are simply not yours to edit, and no proxy service on the market gets around that. On a personal laptop on a restrictive network, a proxy does work the way you’d expect. But if the machine belongs to the school, the honest answer is that this product can’t help you.

Can I run self-bots through your proxies?

Technically nothing on the network layer stops you — a self-bot’s traffic routes like any other — but we won’t recommend it, and you should know exactly where it stands: automating a user account violates Discord’s Terms of Service, full stop, and Discord suspends accounts for it regardless of how clean the IP is, because detection keys on client behavior rather than the address. A dedicated proxy doesn’t launder that. If the underlying need is legitimate automation — moderation, scheduled posts, role management, stats — everything on that list is available through the official bot API with the platform’s blessing, and that’s the setup the rest of this page is built around.

Does voice chat work through a proxy?

Yes, with one configuration detail that trips people up: Discord voice doesn’t travel over HTTP at all. Text, images, and API calls are ordinary TCP, but a Discord voice proxy over UDP is the actual requirement for calls — the proxy has to speak SOCKS5 (which handles UDP through its UDP ASSOCIATE mechanism) and the plan needs the UDP add-on enabled, available on dedicated, package, and ISP plans at 50% of the base price. Once it’s on, the whole session rides one address: you join the voice channel, the RTP stream follows, and Discord sees a single consistent endpoint. Without the add-on you’ll get the classic symptom — text works everywhere, but voice connections hang at “RTC Connecting.”
