Open the "Settings" application via "Start" and go to "Network and Internet". Here, in the "Proxy" section, find the "Manual Proxy Configuration" column. Move the slider to "On" and carefully enter the IP address and port of the proxy, then click "Save".

Several virtual proxy servers can be created within one device. These are special dedicated servers that only "service" such traffic. Many devices can connect to them at the same time.

If you encounter a "Connection refused" error using XEvil with Anticaptcha:

- Verify your Anticaptcha API key.
- Check your machine's internet connection.
- Review firewall settings to ensure they don't block connections to Anticaptcha.
- Confirm the status of the Anticaptcha service for outages.
- Double-check XEvil's configuration related to Anticaptcha.
- Ensure you are using the latest versions of XEvil and Anticaptcha.
- Check proxy configurations if in use.
- Contact Anticaptcha support for assistance.
- Examine logs or debugging information for more details.
- Explore alternative connection methods or configurations.

Always adhere to the terms of service for Anticaptcha and XEvil. If issues persist, contact support for both services.

There are 2 ways to do this. The first is to manually change the settings in /etc/environment, but you will definitely need root access to do that. You can also use the Network Manager utility (compatible with all common DEs). You just have to make sure beforehand that the driver for the network adapter to work properly is installed on the system.

And it depends on what purpose the proxy is used for. But you should definitely give preference to paid proxies. They are more reliable, always available, and with that comes a guarantee of privacy. Unfortunately, personal data is often stolen from free proxies.
